Chain guide rails
Guide rails are one of the basic timing elements. Their main task is guiding the chain that slides along them, to keep it on the timing pulleys. They should be characterized by high abrasion resistance and a low coefficient of friction, especially when in the environment of engine oil and high temperatures. The vast majority of guides are made of Nylon PA46, which relatively quickly wears off and hardens. Such material becomes brittle and may break when you least expect it, damaging the timing gear or the entire engine.
Cracked guide rails or worn chain tensioners are a problem that’s affected many fans of Audi or Volkswagen. The manufacturer provides new parts in sets with the entire phase regulator, for which the price exceeds 2,000 PLN. You can also probably find many cheap Chinese substitutes on the Internet, but they are known for their very low durability. The MEHENKER set out to create an unrivaled product. Slides made of plastic with self-lubricating properties, resistant to high temperatures and oils. As a result, the highest-durability parts, in their class, were obtained - a product that will outlive many engines.
